Privacy Policy
AutoMigrator (automigrator.com)
Effective date: 06/01/2026 Last updated: 06/01/2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Auto Migrator LLC ("AutoMigrator," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the AutoMigrator application and the automigrator.com website (together, the "Service").
AutoMigrator is a self-service, local-first data migration tool. It is designed so that the data you migrate stays on your own device. We do not collect, store, or have access to the data you move with the Service. This policy describes the limited information we do handle and why.
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Our privacy-first design (plain-English summary)
Because this is the most important part for most users, here it is up front:
- Your migrated data stays on your machine. Migrations, imports, and uploads run locally on your device. The workflows you execute from your software(s) and move into a destination is processed locally and is not transmitted to or stored by us.
- We don't see your provider credentials. Any credentials, tokens, or authorization you provide to connect to a source or provider are used locally on your device to perform the migration, imports, and/or uploads you direct. (See the note in Section 4 — please confirm this matches your implementation.)
- The cloud is used only for the app to function — specifically to deliver and protect our proprietary software, and to manage your AutoMigrator account login session. It is not used to store your migrated, imported, and/or uploaded data.
- You're in control. The Service is self-service: every migration, import, and/or upload action is initiated and carried out by you.
The sections below give the full detail.
3. Information we collect
3.1 Account and authentication information
To let you sign in and use the Service, we process:
- Your email address and any other registration details you provide.
- Login session information (e.g., authentication tokens) used to verify your identity and keep you signed in.
- Basic account metadata, such as account creation date and subscription/license status.
3.2 Information we do NOT collect
- The data you migrate, import, and/or upload. The files, records, messages, or other content you move using the Service are processed locally on your device. We do not receive, store, or have access to this content.
- Your source/destination provider credentials. (See Section 4.)
3.3 Payment information
If you purchase a paid plan, payment is handled by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details. We may retain limited records such as transaction date, amount, and plan purchased.
3.4 Diagnostic and usage information (adjust to match what your app actually does)
The application may generate limited technical information to operate reliably and securely, such as:
- App version, operating system, and basic device type.
- Crash reports and error logs (which may be sent to us to diagnose problems).
- Aggregate, non-identifying usage signals (e.g., that a migration was started or completed) used to maintain and improve the Service.
[CONFIRM: whether the app sends any diagnostics/telemetry at all, whether it is on by default, and whether users can disable it. If the app sends nothing back to you, delete this section and say so explicitly — it's a strong selling point.]
3.5 Website information
When you visit automigrator.com, standard web server logs and any analytics or cookies you use may collect IP address, browser type, and pages viewed. [List/confirm any analytics or cookie tools you use, e.g., none, or a privacy-focused analytics provider.]
4. Source and destination provider credentials
To migrate, import, and/or upload data, you connect AutoMigrator to your provider (for example, Zenoti, Symplast, SAP, Epic, etc.) and to your destination which is another provider.
[CONFIRM — this is important and must match your real implementation.] Our understanding of your design is:
- Credentials, OAuth tokens, or authorization you provide are used locally on your device to perform the migration you initiate.
- These credentials are not transmitted to or stored on AutoMigrator's servers.
If any credential or token is ever transmitted to or stored by us (even temporarily, even encrypted, e.g., to refresh an OAuth session), this section must say so clearly, including where it is stored, for how long, and how it is protected. Please confirm so we can finalize this language.
5. How we use information
We use the limited information we process to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate your login sessions.
- Deliver, license, and protect our proprietary application code.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
- Process payments and manage subscriptions (if applicable).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Cloud services and what they touch
AutoMigrator uses cloud infrastructure for a narrow set of functions:
- Delivering and protecting our proprietary code, so the application can run and update.
- Managing login sessions, so the application can verify your identity and communicate securely with our systems.
Cloud infrastructure is not used to store the data you migrate, import, and/or upload. Migration itself happens locally on your device.
We rely on third-party infrastructure providers (e.g., hosting and authentication services) to deliver these functions. Cloudflare
7. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share the limited information we hold only:
- With service providers who help us operate the Service (e.g., cloud hosting, authentication, payment processing), under contracts that limit their use of the information.
- For legal reasons, such as to comply with applicable law, a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
- For marketing, on our marketing website (https://automigrator.com) we use Google Analytics.
8. Data retention
- Account information is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, or as required by law.
- Migrated data is not retained by us at all, because we never receive it.
- You can request deletion of your account information as described in Section 9.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we hold very little personal information about you, these requests are usually simple to fulfill.
- EU/UK (GDPR): rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection; and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
- California (CCPA/CPRA): rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing" (we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any right, contact us at team@automigrator.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. Your responsibility for migrated data and regulated providers
Because AutoMigrator is self-service and operates locally, you control and are responsible for the data you migrate, import, and/or upload. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to access, extract, and move that data, and for complying with the terms of your source/destination providers and with any laws or regulations that apply to that data (for example, sector-specific privacy rules). See our Terms of Service for more.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we hold, such as encryption of login sessions in transit and access controls on our systems. Because your migrated data stays on your device, its security also depends on the security of your own machine and accounts. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. International data transfers
If you are located outside United States, the limited account information we process may be transferred to and processed in United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.
13. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under [16 / the age required in your jurisdiction], and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice (for example, within the application or by email). Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
